Medicated

Can you beleive it, I am dressed? Well barely. My hair is wet and I have no make up on but hey I put on an outfit besides yoga pants and uggs. This was supposed to be worn 3 days ago before I got sick so it was just sitting out already. The inspiration photo is below:

I picked this inspiration cause it was using a odd colored velvet blazer (which I have) and a white bead necklace (which I have). See it was a way for me to use these two pieces which has been collecting dust in the closet.

I also have not worn these work slacks in ages. Luckily they must have bought from a time where I was the same size so they fit perfectly. Yeay.

I like this white and white accessory look. I wish I had some brown booties as that would have been better.

This was right before I used every single ounce of energy I could gather to shower and get dressed to take the kids to the indoor play area. My motivation to get them going is pedialite popsicles.

Today's Activities: So woke up feeling still horrible and now with a bigger swell around my right ear. I took all the meds plus pain releivers and waited laying on the couch while my daughter filled every single cup of theirs with water and carried it over to me while spilling them everywhere to which my son kept screaming 'she is spilling'. Yeah, so very relaxing.
But then the pills kicked in and I made the most of this short lived energy burst to clean the dishes, shower and get dressed and get the kids ready and out the door. The indoor place was not much better for me as there are no couches to lay on but at least the kids were having fun and not jumping on me. Fed them lunch there and brough them home just in time for naps. And crashed as soon as they were down.

Unfortunately no help was in sight in the afternoon and I had lost all the energy to go back out again. We again broke the rules and popped in a movie but then my husband came home early and took them to the park before sunset so they can get some fresh air.

God, I hope I feel a bit better tomorrow. I am so tired of feeling so sick and exhausted and in pain.

Snapped some photos of the kids after my photos...

I told her to say 'cheese'!

Friend Friday Post: Finding Balance

My second post for Fashion Beauty Friend Friday (FBFF) from Katy @ Modly Chic.
This week’s Friend Friday questions focus on the issue of finding the balance.

1. When it comes to prioritizing your life, in what place does blogging fall?
Towards the bottom unfortunately. I have two young kids I take care of full time. Household chores. And my friends and family always rank high priority in my life. Blogging is something I do for me and I truly enjoy it. So I use my own personal time for it.

2. We all wish we had more free time to dedicate to blogging and all it entails. What are your tricks for taking advantage of the time you do have to be as productive as possible?
I try to take my outfit photos first thing in the morning before going out. It might not be the best light or desired background but I know later in the day I might not have time and my outfit might be stained or wrinkled from doing stuff with the kids. Once the photos are taken I try to download/upload and edit them during kids' nap time. At once they go to bed I try to get my post in first. Then I try to read other blogs I follow as much as possible. I also love to visit the blogs of new people that comment or follow my blog to get to know them better.

3. Have you discovered any short-cuts that makes blogging easier or more time efficient?
I use the save feature a lot. I can start a blog, just get the photos in or put the writing in and save to finish later. I also love scheduling posts when I am traveling. But that is about it. Will be reading others to see if I can learn something.

4. Do you have an editorial calendar or something similar that helps you plan ahead? The primary content of my blog is outfit posts and writing about my day I spent in that outfit. I do have a list of things I would like to post about but have not had the time yet. For scheduled posts like these FBFF I do post them on my calendar to remind myself.

5. If time wasn’t an issue what you would be doing on your blog/for your blog that you aren’t doing now?
I so would love to create 'looks for less' segments. I love cutting out inspiraton photos from magazines and catalogs and I love browsing retail shops online and seem to always find the pictured items for much cheaper. I usually use the stuff in my own closet but would love to help out my readers with links to where they can buy similar items for less.
I would love to use polyvore to create outfit ideas and collages.
I would love to join more groups and participate in more challanges.
I would love to host my own challange event and giveaway.
I would love to spend time to turn my blog into a revenue generator.
To see the answers from all the other bloggers check out the links under Katy's Post at this link.

Rock the Red Pump Campaign

I am so sorry I have been MIA the last few days. I have been super sick and with  my mom also sick I have had minimal help with the kids and it is really painful to be sick and still have to take care of kids. I finally went to urgent care today and I have a strep throat and an ear infection and started antibiotics. So hopefully I will feel up to actually getting dressed out of yoga pants/PJs to real clothes.

So, today was suppose to be the Rock the Red Pump Campaign!
Such a great cause that I was so excited to support. I had my outfit all picked out with my candy red patent leather heels and everything. But I felt like a zombie all day barely holding on so dressing was out of the question. :(
I still wanted to post to support the campaign though...

Everybody Everywhere POLKA DOTS

Today's outfit is for the Everybody Everywhere blog's 'Wear Polka Dots' event...
Check out all sorts of fun ways each person styled their polka dots:

This is not my most shining moment I must admit. I only had two outfits with polka dots and one I had already worn (it was this shirt with a green top underneath over mustard pants) and the other was this super cool outfit with a white eyelet pencil skirt and black lace tights which is so not appropriate for the park preschool activity that was on our agenda today!
I tried to put this outfit together in the morning on the fly. And once again I remembered why I keep outfit lists. I can't event describe how impossible it is some mornings with only 10 minutes tops for me to get ready, two kids playing right at my legs, throwing toys all over the bedroom, going in and out of my closet where I constantly fear they are going to get their finger stuck in the door it is just so stressfull. So, trying to come up with a cool outfit idea is really out of the question in this crazy environment and just not fun. With my lists, I keep track of outfit ideas as they come to me or when I try on clothes at my own time etc.. And every night I will figure out what I am going to pick from the list the next morning. So in the morning I just wear the items on the list make any minor changes if necessary and voila done!

I did want to use this chartuse cashmere shrug since I got in on clearance for $10! I actually saw my girlfriend dress her 18 month old in a black and white gingham dress with a cardigan in this color and loved the combo. Just shows you can be inspired even from an 18 month old!

I wanted to add some delicate accessories to the outfit. The thin bracelet watch and a charm bracelet for example. Then I layered two gold toned heart charm necklaces on top. The longer one is a gold locket my husband bought as a present couple years ago. The other is a $4.50 necklace from Forever 21!

I realize these jeans are making me look so 'hippy' and the ironic thing is I literally have no hips, my hips actually go in instead of out so not sure how it is possible.

Today's Activities: It was an ugly morning. First of all my attempts to catch up on sleep and going to bed an hour earlier than normal backfired. I woke up at 6 AM and had a very hard time falling back a sleep until 7 AM which was my wake-up time. Second, my son is just not having a good day. The kid is totally sleep deprived. He wakes up so early (6 AM), usually does not take a nap and always complains how tired he is and it just shows from his crankiness and fussiness. And this morning he was just crying at everything even when I gave him what he wanted. It was just bad.
The outdoor class was good. The kids climbed up and down and ran and ran. They ate a like a champ and both are taking a very good nap thank goodness. Hoping my son wakes up a new boy after getting some sleep.
Posting this early so I can dot he polka dot entry. Wanted to do a gym class with my sister but she is MIA, so might meet another friend with two kids at the mall then do dinner there since both our husbands are scheduled to come home very late tonight.

My friend snapped these photos when the kids started tackling me during the outdoor class circle time:

Some cute photos during this parachute dance/song the teacher did...

Purple Fur

This was my outfit on Sunday which was day 2 of our Girls' Weekend trip. I cheated a bit as I also wore this outfit Saturday night to dinner. I wanted to get the most out of it as I loved it so much.

This white picket fence surrounded front part of the property and with the trees in the background it was just such a cool background for a photo shoot. Also helps to have friends to take photos instead of a tripod.

The 'floppy adventure hat' was perfect for this 80s inspired outfit. I added the huge black onyx ring for the rocker look and the silver fringe earings to show under the hat.

The faux fur purple jacket is a killer find from Forever 21 clearance rack for $14. How can you pass on it?

This grey top just has the prettiest color and it is tissue thin. Love the elastic bottom and total 80s feel to it. I forgot to photo the back but it is totally ripped in stripes. Very very cool top (from Guess's sale rack)...
The patent leather boots are a purchase from Turkey a few years back. Grey is just a great color to have when it comes to boots or shoes.

These amazingly cool pants are from Bebe from couple years ago. They have the satin stripe on the sides. I call them the 'skinny tuxedo pants'.

Just couldn't get enough of this photo shoot. The lighting was perfect and the fence just gave me so much to work with. Plus I feel the sexiest in this type of an outfit: skinny pants, high heels.

Sunday Activities: It was amazing again to sleep in and even better to lounge around with nothing to do. Haven't had that feeling since I was pregnant with my first. The weather was cooler but still sunny and nice so we had breakfast in the front patio this time. Then decided we should just stay in our PJs and stay in. We played cards for a couple hours on the patio. After packing and checking out had lunch on the way at a Mexican restaurant and headed back home totally refreshed.

Once we came near the house though I couldn't wait to see the kids. But, first I had to unpack everything, put everything away and immediately download and upload photos.
We then picked up pizza and went to my mom's to pick up the kids and have dinner together. They never greet me with love when at Grandparents' house but that is OK cause once we get home they become mommy's boy and girl immediately so I just wait for all the hugs then.

This Tree was so pretty, I didn't want to crop the photo to zoom in...

Warming Flowers

Wearing lots of wool layers today. It is windy, rainy and overcast so again perfect day to wear this super thick and warm sweater dress.

I am not sure why they make short sleeve wool sweaters. When do you wear them? If it is warm enough for short sleeves it is too hot for the material and if it is cold enough to wear a sweater your arms are freezing in the short sleeves. So, I added a long sleeve cotton top underneath to solve this problem. I do love the colors of this sweater dress/tunic. I think it looks great over the cognac color leather belts I thrifted for $20.

This georgous neck warmer is a gift from a family friend. She bought a smilar one from 'mavi' (you know the jean brand which is Turkish) while she was in Turkey so she can copy the pattern. I saw it on her and complimented how cool it was. She made me one within a week! I love its colors. I wasn't sure how I was going to style it yet. When I was looking how to accessorize the outfit this morning realized this would be perfect.

Did not want to wear a hat but my hair was still wet from the morning shower and no time to style it plus the rainy weather outside was enough to pursuade me to tuck it all in a beret.

Today's Activities: I really dislike Monday mornings. First of all my body is used to sleeping in a bit more, second of all there is always unfinished chores left over from the weekend and finally I never have any good leftovers or enough groceries to make/pack lunch for the day. So dragged myself out of bed to shower and get dressed. Decided I was going to leave most of the chores to afternoon so I can get out of the house on time without stressing. Didn't even take my photos.
School was good. My son now consistantly sits through circle times and listens. I just can't be even near that area which means my daughter does not participate at all but I am picking one battle at a time. Plus the class is for 3-5 years olds so most of the stuff goes over her 2 yr old head anyways.
I did my photo shoot when we got home before putting the kids down. Cause once i take off my boots and hat I don't want to re-wear them.
Will most likely stay in this afternoon although I do need to pick up some groceries. Posting this now so I can post my missing 'Sunday' post later tonight...
